Gwangju Metropolitan Office of Education Accelerates Efforts to Strengthen AI Education Leading Schools Operation
The Gwangju Metropolitan Office of Education is accelerating efforts to support the solidification of AI education leading schools.
On the 20th, the Gwangju Office of Education announced that it held a related workshop on the 19th at Chosun University Attached High School for teachers in charge of artificial intelligence (AI) education leading schools.
‘AI Education Leading Schools’ are operated to lead various AI education programs in flexible and creative educational spaces where student collaboration and project-based learning are possible. They are divided into two types: ‘Information Education Room Establishment Schools’ and ‘Educational Activity Model Schools,’ where diverse AI education is conducted.
Last year, 34 schools participated, and this year the number has expanded to 52 schools. The Office of Education supports 87.5 million KRW per school for Information Education Room Establishment Schools and 17.5 million KRW per school for Educational Activity Model Schools.
This kickoff workshop was held to share plans for establishing information education rooms and ways to solidify AI educational activities with teachers in charge of AI education leading schools.
In particular, the workshop featured ▲a special lecture on educational utilization methods and directions of ChatGPT (Jeon In-seong from Gwangju Hyodong Elementary School) ▲presentations of excellent cases in operating AI education leading schools for elementary and secondary levels (Lee Ji-hye from Munjeong Elementary School, Song Kyung-hee from Chodaebu High School) ▲and a tour of the ‘future-type information classroom’ facilities.
A teacher who attended the workshop said, “It was very helpful to learn about the educational utilization methods of ChatGPT, the latest AI technology, as well as the excellent cases of operating AI education leading schools, which provided insights into the process of establishing information education rooms and various ways to conduct educational activities.”
