'Physical 100' Former Rugby National Player Admits to Sexual Assault and Illegal Filming in First Trial
A, a former national rugby player (31), who was indicted for sexually assaulting his girlfriend and illegally filming her, admitted to most of the charges at his first trial.
At A's first hearing held on the 20th at the Seoul Central District Court Criminal Division 31 (Presiding Judge Lee Jung-min), the defense attorney stated, "He admits to the charges related to sexual assault and camera filming."
A's side also said, "The defendant deeply regrets his actions and apologizes to the victim."
Earlier, on the morning of February 23, A was arrested and indicted on charges of threatening his girlfriend with a weapon and sexually assaulting her at her home in Gangnam-gu, Seoul (rape and injury under the Sexual Violence Punishment Act).
He is also accused of filming her with a mobile phone against her will.
However, on this day, A's side denied some charges such as property damage and special threats.
