KOSHA Ulsan Headquarters, Construction Industry Risk Assessment Competition
The Ulsan Regional Safety Culture Practice Promotion Team held a risk assessment best practice contest and a unity pledge event on the 19th at the Lotte Construction Ulsan Gangdong Resort site to exchange safety and health information and raise awareness.
This event was jointly organized by the Ulsan Employment and Labor Office, the Ulsan Regional Headquarters of the Korea Occupational Safety and Health Agency, and the Ulsan Construction Safety and Health Council as part of promoting a safety culture.
The event proceeded in the order of introductions and greetings from participating organizations, presentations of the risk assessment best practice contest, a special lecture on safety culture practice, and the unity pledge event.
Winners of the Risk Assessment Best Practice Contest are shouting "Fighting" together with Jeon Sangheon, head of the Ulsan branch of the Korea Occupational Safety and Health Agency (center), pledging to practice safety.
View original imageIn the risk assessment best practice contest, five teams from major construction sites in the Ulsan area presented site introductions, key safety activities, and cases of risk assessment improvements.
As a result of the contest, the grand prize was awarded to POSCO Construction (Ulsan New Port South Breakwater Section 2-2), and the excellence awards went to Lotte Construction (Ulsan Jung-gu B-05 Housing Redevelopment Maintenance) and Hyundai Development Company (Ulsan Taehwagang I-Park Officetel New Construction).
A representative of the Ulsan Regional Safety Culture Practice Promotion Team said, “We hope that through the best practices presented in the contest, a risk assessment-centered safety management system, where labor and management jointly diagnose and improve risk factors on their own, will spread.”

Jeon Sangheon, head of the Ulsan Headquarters of the Korea Occupational Safety and Health Agency, said, “We will join forces with related organizations such as the Ulsan Construction Safety and Health Council to put more effort into establishing a safety culture and preventing major accidents.”
