BNY Mellon Asset Management Group Opens Jeonju Office to Support National Pension Service Operations

Global asset management giant BNY Mellon Asset Management Group will open an asset management liaison office in Jeonju in the first half of this year to strengthen cooperation with the National Pension Service.
On the afternoon of the 18th (local time), Kim Tae-hyun, Chairman of the National Pension Service, visited the BNY Mellon Group headquarters in New York, USA, and exchanged views with Chairman Robin Vince on the recent global economic situation and financial issues.
At this meeting, both parties finalized the plan to open an asset management liaison office in Jeonju, Jeollabuk-do, where the headquarters of the National Pension Service is located, in the first half of 2023.
The liaison office of BNY Mellon Asset Management Group will be responsible for communication related to the National Pension Service and is also expected to contribute to the development of the financial industry and local community in the Jeollabuk region.
Previously, since 2011, the National Pension Service has entrusted asset management to Walter Scott, an affiliated asset management company of the BNY Mellon Group. Currently, various assets including stocks and bonds are under delegated management.

Chairman Kim Tae-hyun said, “We are pleased that BNY Mellon Asset Management, which has maintained ties with the National Pension Service since 2011, is opening a liaison office in Jeonju,” adding, “We hope to enhance mutual understanding based on close communication with the National Pension Service and further contribute to the development of the fund.”
