Imsil-gun Accelerates Promotion of Train and Rental Car Tourism Packages

Imsil-gun, Jeonbuk Province, is actively promoting tourism products as practical and economical free travel packages, well-organized with trains and rental cars in collaboration with Korea Railroad Corporation, gain popularity.

According to the county on the 19th, the train-linked tourism product ‘Enjoyable Imsil Trip by Rental Car,’ developed in cooperation with the Jeonbuk Headquarters of Korea Railroad Corporation, is receiving positive responses, enhancing transportation accessibility for Imsil tourism and further revitalizing train tourism.

This product prioritizes improving transportation accessibility and aligns with the domestic travel trend favoring individual travel after COVID-19, catering effectively to solo travelers and family tourists.

The product is a free travel package consisting of round-trip train tickets to and from Jeonju Station and a rental car, with discounts of 10-60% on round-trip train fares and 30-47% on rental car fees applied.

After arriving at Jeonju Station, travelers can freely explore major tourist spots in the county using the rental car. Users need to present photos of visits to two tourist sites within Imsil and receipts from restaurants or cafes in the county.

The product can be booked on the Let’s Korail website from one month to three days before the departure date, with prices starting at 76,200 KRW per person on weekdays.

County Governor Shim Min said, “Imsil is a tourist destination with excellent accessibility, reachable within two hours by train from Seoul and the metropolitan area. We plan to maximize transportation accessibility for Imsil tourism through the operation of rental car products linked with trains, accelerating the revitalization of train tourism and local tourism.”

Meanwhile, regarding the S-train stop at Imsil Station, the county plans to additionally develop and operate tourism products for group tourists visiting Imsil by train, alongside this rental car travel product for individual travelers.
