The association had operated consultation meetings only online until the first half of last year due to the COVID-19 pandemic. However, following the easing of quarantine guidelines, it has been continuously promoting offline consultation meetings through local visits abroad since the second half of last year.
The consultation meeting, held locally in Vietnam for the first time this year, was conducted under the theme of 'Digital Health' in line with the Vietnamese government's policy to establish a smart healthcare industry infrastructure, including disease prevention, health diagnosis and treatment, and health management, due to a shortage of modern medical personnel.
Five domestic technology innovation companies possessing technologies such as personalized disease prediction services, AI (artificial intelligence)-based health guide platforms, and liquid biopsy-based ultra-precise cancer diagnosis participated. They visited pre-matched local companies directly and had discussions on various cooperation methods mediated by technology, such as technology licensing (technology export) and joint venture establishment.
The association newly prepared a networking venue between domestic companies already entered in Vietnam and locally dispatched companies starting this time. It plans to provide opportunities for business activation and collaboration with local companies, such as sharing offices and production facilities.
Kim Se-jong, Policy Research Director of the Inno-Biz Association, said, “Vietnam is the next-generation core country for global corporate production bases due to changes in the global supply chain,” adding, “Starting this year, as the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) can be fully utilized when entering Vietnam, we will actively lead innovative technology companies such as Inno-Biz companies to take the lead in entering ASEAN countries based in Vietnam.”
