Jeongeup-si Invests 22 Million Won to Support 'Eco-Friendly Livestock Product Certification Fees'
Jeongeup-si, Jeonbuk Province, announced on the 19th that it will invest a budget of 22 million KRW this year to support the certification costs for eco-friendly livestock products in order to enhance the willingness of local farms to practice eco-friendly livestock farming, reduce the burden on farms, and promote the spread of eco-friendly livestock farming.
Accordingly, farms that have obtained livestock product certification can receive support for expenses incurred for eco-friendly livestock product certification, including application fees, travel expenses, and inspection and management fees.
The support amount is up to 400,000 KRW, and only the actual expenses incurred within the limit of each detailed item of the certification cost will be supported.
The support targets are all certified livestock species such as Hanwoo (Korean native cattle), dairy cows, pigs, chickens, ducks, and quail, and farms or corporations that have obtained eco-friendly livestock product certification.
To receive eco-friendly certification, livestock must be raised according to certification standards such as breeding environment and conditions, self-supplied feed base, livestock stocking and shipping, feed and nutrition management, animal welfare, and disease management, and then apply for certification at an institution designated by the National Agricultural Products Quality Management Service.
Interested farms should submit copies of related supporting documents such as the ‘Eco-friendly Livestock Product Certificate,’ ‘Tax Invoice,’ and ‘Expense Confirmation’ along with the application form to each eup/myeon office or dong community service center.
A city official stated, “As demand and interest in safe and clean high-quality livestock products and animal welfare are increasing, we plan to continuously strive to expand the production of eco-friendly livestock products.”
