New COVID-19 Cases at 16,508... About 2,600 More Than Last Week (Update)
Amid a slight increase in the recent COVID-19 surge, the number of new confirmed cases on the 19th reached the 16,000 range.
The Central Disease Control Headquarters announced that as of midnight on that day, 16,508 new COVID-19 cases were reported, bringing the total to 31,025,769.
The number of new cases increased by 1,335 compared to the previous day (15,173). Compared to a week ago on the 12th (13,920), it rose by 2,588.
The weekly average number of daily confirmed cases is 11,679, maintaining a scale in the 10,000s since the end of February.
The number of new cases has increased for six consecutive days since the 14th compared to a week ago.
Among the new confirmed cases, 34 were imported from overseas.
The number of critically ill patients currently hospitalized is 135, one less than the previous day.
