Wando-gun Signs Business Agreement with Courtyard Marriott Botanic Park
Promotion of Healing Industry Expected to Boost Consumption of Excellent Agricultural and Marine Specialties
Wando-gun, Jeollanam-do (Governor Shin Woo-cheol) signed a business agreement on the 13th with Courtyard Marriott Botanic Park Hotel to promote the healing industry and foster mutual cooperation.
According to the county on the 19th, the signing ceremony was attended by Shin Woo-cheol, Governor of Wando-gun, and Hwang Jun-oh, CEO, along with the operations director from Courtyard Marriott Botanic Park.

Through this business agreement, they agreed to actively cooperate on △promoting and developing strategies for the healing industry utilizing Wando's marine and forest resources △promoting and boosting consumption of Wando's excellent agricultural and marine specialty products △supporting events and venues, and other mutually recognized necessary projects.
Marriott Hotels is the world's largest and one of the global top five hotel chains, operating over 6,700 hotels in 127 countries.
The county expects this business agreement to greatly contribute to promoting the healing industry and boosting consumption of agricultural and marine specialty products.
Governor Shin Woo-cheol said, “It is meaningful to sign a business agreement with Courtyard Marriott Botanic Park, a global company emphasizing healing and wellness concepts, for our county’s key project, the marine healing industry,” adding, “We hope to provide differentiated marine healing program experiences to hotel guests and ensure continuous supply of Wando’s specialty products.”
CEO Hwang Jun-oh explained the significance of the agreement, stating, “We will cooperate to widely promote Wando’s beautiful natural scenery and the excellence of its agricultural and marine specialty products.”
Meanwhile, Wando-gun is leading the domestic development of marine healing, which enhances physical and mental health using marine resources, and last month declared the ‘Era of Marine Healing Wando Tourism.’
In particular, as Korea’s top producer of abalone and seaweed, and producing rice, yuzu, loquat, and hwangchil in a pristine natural environment, Wando is striving to promote consumption of its agricultural and marine specialty products.
