Busan Office of Education Accelerates Efforts to Ensure Safety on School Routes
Busan Metropolitan Office of Education is accelerating efforts to secure safety on school routes by strengthening collaboration with local governments, police stations, and other related agencies.
On the morning of the 18th at 8:10 AM, the Busan Office of Education held the ‘Seo-gu Agency Heads Relay Collaboration Proclamation Ceremony’ at Cheonma Elementary School in Seo-gu to ensure the safety of school routes.
The proclamation ceremony was attended by Superintendent Ha Yun-su, Seo-gu Mayor Gong Han-su, Chief of Seobu Police Station Park Yong-moon, Director of Seobu Education Support Office Lee Jae-han, City Councilor Choi Do-seok, and other related officials.
The ceremony aims to strengthen the ‘Busan-style Grand Integration School Route Safety Network Agreement’ signed last December with heads of related agencies in areas with poor school commuting environments. This is the third proclamation ceremony following those held in Nam-gu on March 9 and Yeongdo-gu on April 6.
Before the ceremony, Superintendent Ha and the agency heads conducted a campaign on the Cheonma Elementary School school route targeting drivers and students to promote safe school routes.
They provided guidance on the ‘Revised Road Traffic Act,’ ‘Compliance with vehicle speed limits in school zones,’ and ‘Prohibition of illegal parking.’ After the campaign, Superintendent Ha and the agency heads thoroughly inspected the school commute routes at Cheonma Elementary School.

Ha Yun-su, Superintendent of Busan Metropolitan Office of Education, said, “The more deprived the school commuting environment is, the more cooperation from related agencies is needed. Our Office of Education will continue to join forces with related agencies to take the lead in improving students’ commuting environments.”
