Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism to Discover K-Culture Specialized Tourism Products... Call for Entries Until May 17
K-Food, K-Pop and 4 Other Categories Tourism Product Contest Announcement
The government is launching the development of specialized tourism products that captivate foreign tourists by utilizing our culture.

View original imageOn the 18th, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism announced that it will hold a contest for ‘K-Culture Specialized Tourism Products’ in cooperation with the Korea Tourism Organization until May 17.
This contest was planned to actively utilize K-Culture to discover tourism products that appeal more attractively to foreigners and to support subsequent marketing.
The contest will recruit tourism products targeting foreigners that can be launched by June this year in four categories: △K-Food △K-Beauty & Fashion △K-Pop, Drama △K-Outdoor.
They plan to select 10 products that differentiate from existing products, expand the experience of K-Culture based on innovative storytelling, and are easy for foreigners to book and use. Extra points will be given if the product utilizes the ‘Top 100 K-Culture Events’ selected by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.
The selected products will be introduced as representative K-Culture tourism content by the Ministry and the Tourism Organization, and promotional support will be provided through domestic and international marketing channels such as Visit Korea.
In this regard, an explanatory session for the industry will be held on the 27th. Detailed information can be found on the ‘Korea Tourism Industry Portal Touraz’.

Park Jong-taek, Director of Tourism Policy at the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, said, “The global fandom of 170 million K-Culture fans is the potential demand for K-Tourism,” adding, “We hope that through this contest, various products that can show the unique and attractive fusion of tourism and K-Culture will be discovered.”
