Gochang-gun and Jeonbuk National University Launch 'Lifelong Learning Academy' Opening Ceremony

On the 17th, Gochang-gun in Jeonbuk held the opening ceremony of the Lifelong Learning Academy in connection with Jeonbuk National University Lifelong Education Center at the Gochang Campus.

According to the county on the 18th, the Lifelong Learning Academy actively develops and operates programs suitable for the characteristics of the local community, aiming to improve the quality of life of residents through lifelong learning, and receives great responses from residents every year.

This year, specialized local courses (construction machinery operation qualification courses for excavators and forklifts, basic landscaping tree cultivation and management courses), vocational ability courses (flower tea sommelier, upcycling instructor, coffee barista level 2, soap flower craft instructor, ukulele (level 2)) were opened.

In addition, new humanities and liberal arts courses (literary reflection through movies, opera & musical stage music salon, poetry and essay writing courses) were newly established, and a total of 17 courses including cultural arts and life redesign fields (learning folk painting, eco-therapy DIY, becoming a drone video shooting PD) will be participated in by about 260 residents to practice learning.

The county is strengthening the creation of lifelong learning environments at the village level and visiting lifelong learning services as a lifelong learning city.

Also, by creating a learning culture environment where any resident can learn anytime and anywhere they want, lifelong learning projects tailored to the diverse needs of residents are actively being operated.

County Governor Shim Deok-seop said, “We will build a happy lifelong learning city for residents through learning based on optimal lifelong learning infrastructure and advanced policies by strengthening not only the Lifelong Learning Academy but also support for lifelong learning clubs, creation of village lifelong learning communities, and adult literacy education projects.”
