New COVID-19 Cases at 15,173... About 2,700 More Than Last Week (Update)
Amid a slight increase in the recent COVID-19 surge, the number of new confirmed cases on the 18th was in the 15,000 range.
The Central Disease Control Headquarters announced that as of midnight on that day, 15,173 new COVID-19 cases were reported, bringing the total to 31,009,261.
The number of new cases increased by 10,227 compared to the previous day (4,946), which had decreased due to the weekend effect. Compared to a week ago on the 11th (12,437 cases), it is 2,736 more.
The number of new confirmed cases has been rising for five consecutive days since the 14th compared to a week ago.
Among the new confirmed cases, 20 were imported from overseas.
The number of critically ill patients currently hospitalized increased by 6 from the previous day to 136.
