Ministry of Economy and Finance at OECD Public Institution Forum: "Active Participation in International Discussions"
‘Han-OECD Public Institution International Policy Forum’
On the 17th, the Ministry of Economy and Finance announced that it held the 1st 'Korea-OECD Public Institution International Policy Forum' at the headquarters of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) in Paris, France.
This forum was organized to share policy trends among public institutions of OECD member countries and to gain insights for policy development. Attendees included Kim Yoonsang, Director General of Fiscal Management at the Ministry of Economy and Finance, An Ilhwan, Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to the OECD, Yoshiki Takeuchi, OECD Deputy Secretary-General, and policy officials from public institutions of over 20 countries.
In his opening remarks, Director General Kim Yoonsang (Vice Minister) emphasized that Korea has been continuously making efforts to innovate public institutions since last year by enhancing productivity and efficiency of public institutions and strengthening cooperation between private and public institutions. He also mentioned the intention to play an active role in international discussions on public institution policies such as anti-corruption, Environment, Social, and Governance (ESG), and revisions to the OECD guidelines.
During the sessions, Jeong Yuri, Head of Public Policy Division, presented the 'Three Major Tasks for Public Institution Innovation' that have been promoted since last year, and Kim Yujeong, Head of Public System Planning Division, expressed Korea's opinions on the revision direction of the 'OECD Guidelines on Corporate Governance of State-Owned Enterprises.' Presentations and discussions on the theme of 'ESG Management of Public Institutions' were also conducted among forum participants.

Based on the discussions, the Ministry of Economy and Finance plans to continuously review future policy directions regarding the overall management system of public institutions.
