Hyundai Rotem Holds 'Safety Practice Resolution Meeting' to Establish Zero-Accident Workplace
"People-Centered Safety Management Activities" Goal
Hyundai Rotem is embarking on establishing an accident-free workplace.
On the morning of the 14th, Hyundai Rotem held a 'Safety Practice Resolution Meeting' at its Changwon factory to build a safe and accident-free workplace, attended by about 350 employees from the headquarters, Changwon factory, and partner companies.
At the event, Lee Yong-bae, CEO of Hyundai Rotem, and Park Jong-chul, head of the Hyundai Rotem branch of the Korean Metal Workers' Union, participated as labor-management representatives. Kim Jae-hoon, head of the Changwon branch of the Ministry of Employment and Labor, Hyundai Rotem's Chief Safety Officer (CSO), safety department heads, and safety and health management personnel were also present.

As workplace safety and health issues have emerged as a key management agenda, Hyundai Rotem has established the HSE (Health, Safety, Environment) vision of "building a safe workplace that prioritizes people and the environment." To implement the HSE vision, four major goals were presented: ▲establishing an advanced safety culture ▲efficient risk management ▲establishing an HSE management system ▲strengthening internal safety and health capabilities.

At the workplace, to enhance employees' safety and health capabilities, a mobile safety reporting system has been introduced to proactively identify and eliminate risk factors. A safety evaluation system has also been implemented to improve safety management among partner companies and manage risks. A Hyundai Rotem official said, "As interest in safety is higher than ever, we will pursue people-centered safety management activities," adding, "We will do our best to create a safe workplace."
