KOTRA, in collaboration with the Korea Institute of Information Technology, announced on the 17th that it participated in the 1st phase of the 133rd "China Spring Import and Export Fair (hereinafter referred to as the Canton Fair)" held in Guangzhou, China, from the 15th to the 19th.
KOTRA has participated in the 1st phase annually since 2007, and this year marks the 31st time the Korean Pavilion has been organized. This year, 20 companies participated in the Korean Pavilion, showcasing competitive and excellent products such as kitchenware, home appliances, machinery equipment, and safety products.

Among the participating companies, 65% are regular attendees who have consistently participated over the years. They cited the high promotional effect of meeting buyers from China and around the world in one place, ease of customer management, and a high transaction success rate as the biggest advantages. In fact, some companies that participated in the Korean Pavilion at past Canton Fairs signed contracts worth over 10 million USD per deal with buyers not only from China but also from Southeast Asia, the Americas, and other regions worldwide.
The Canton Fair, which began in 1957, is the largest comprehensive exhibition in China held twice annually in spring and autumn. It is considered one of the three major exhibitions alongside the Beijing International Service Trade Fair and the Shanghai International Import Expo. It features approximately 30,000 companies and over 200,000 buyers from around the world. This spring exhibition is particularly significant as it is the first offline event since the pandemic where foreign companies and overseas buyers participate directly, following China's reopening.

Hong Chang-pyo, head of KOTRA's China Regional Headquarters, said, "This year, with the reopening, companies worldwide are showing great interest in the Chinese market and the Canton Fair, so we expect many business opportunities to be created. We will further expand support to help our companies seize opportunities to enter China and, beyond that, the global market using the Canton Fair as a stepping stone."
