Biden Orders Investigation into How Access to Classified Documents Was Possible
Re-election Bid Sisa "Already Decided, Will Announce Relatively Soon"
U.S. President Joe Biden on the 14th (local time) instructed the relevant government departments to determine how the 21-year-old Air Force Airman, the suspect in the U.S. government classified document leak, was able to access so much military secret information.
President Biden said on the same day, while returning from a visit to Ireland, "First, I instructed them to identify the root cause of why he initially had access rights to the classified documents." He added, "Second, I instructed them to broadly focus on the extent to which the incident occurred." He said he could not predict how long the investigation related to this classified leak case would take but added, "It will not take that long."
Jack Teseira (21), an Airman in the U.S. Air National Guard who leaked U.S. government secrets, appeared in court on the same day, just one day after his arrest. The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) charged Teseira with two counts: unauthorized possession and transmission of defense information, and unauthorized removal and possession of classified documents and materials.
Questions are growing about how Teseira, who has a short military career and low rank, was able to access such a large amount of national secrets and whether the U.S. classified information management system is lax.
In a statement released earlier that day, President Biden also said, "I have instructed the military and intelligence agencies to take measures to restrict the distribution of sensitive information and strengthen security." He also added that they are still verifying the validity of the leaked documents.

President Biden also revealed that he has already decided to run for re-election next year and will officially announce it soon. He said, "That calculation has already been made," and "We will announce it relatively quickly." Earlier, on April 10th during an Easter event, he had said, "I plan to run. However, I am not yet ready to announce it."
