Support Progress through Hope Welfare Mobile Service

Gokseong-gun, Jeollanam-do (Governor Lee Sang-cheol) announced that on the 13th, the 7th “Visiting Hope Welfare Mobile Service” of 2023 was conducted in Ham-an Village, Osan-myeon.

The Hope Welfare Mobile Service is a project that visits villages where residents live every Thursday to provide various life-oriented services.

The county newly added a companion dog animal registration support service in cooperation with the Livestock Distribution and Animal Quarantine Team and two local animal hospitals (Maro Animal Hospital, Okgwa Animal Hospital). They promoted companion dog registration and provided registration services while going around the neighborhoods of Ham-an Village, receiving great responses from the villagers.

The companion dog animal registration support project is implemented to strengthen the responsibility of companion dog owners, increase the registration rate of companion animals, enhance the effectiveness of animal protection, and establish a mature companion animal culture.

The project details include partial support of registration fees when companion dog owners register their pets through embedded chips at animal registration agencies. Support of 30,000 KRW per dog is provided, and support is also available when changing from external registration to embedded registration.

An elderly person who received the companion dog animal registration support service said, “It is realistically difficult to go all the way to the town center to register a companion dog while raising a dog in a rural yard. Since they came directly to the village and registered the animal, I was able to use the service conveniently.”

A county official stated, “We are making efforts to provide services that can directly help Gokseong residents by collaborating with other departments, making the most of the characteristics of the Visiting Hope Welfare Mobile Service. We will continue to discover various projects and collaborate to do our best to increase residents’ welfare satisfaction.”
