Coway, a Red Dot Design 'Regular', Wins Award for 17 Consecutive Years
Proof of Innovative Design for Three Items Including Skinplus Yeonsugi
Coway (CEO Seo Jang-won) announced on the 14th that it won the Winner award in the Product Design category at the '2023 Red Dot Design Award.' The Red Dot Design Award is a globally prestigious design competition hosted by the Design Center of North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. Along with Germany's iF, the United States' IDEA, and Japan's Good Design Award, it is considered one of the world's four major design awards. Coway has been recognized for its global design excellence by winning the Red Dot Design Award for 17 consecutive years from 2007 to this year.
This year's winning products include three items: the 'Skinplus Water Softener' and the 'Powerup Air Purifier.' They received high praise for maximizing premium value through a simple design focused on straight lines that minimize unnecessary elements.
The Skinplus Water Softener features a slim size and an integrated faucet design with the front of the product made of mirror material. Compared to previous models, the width and thickness have been significantly reduced to enhance space utilization. The Powerup Air Purifier is a large-capacity product specialized for multi-use facilities such as schools and offices. It has a tower-shaped design with straight-line structure, hiding the intake, outlet, and handle inside the product. It was also praised for being an eco-friendly product utilizing recycled plastic.
