Jeongeup-si 'Small Store Ramp Installation Support Project' Additional Recruitment
Jeongeup City in Jeonbuk is recruiting additional small businesses for the ‘Small Store Ramp Installation Support Project,’ which aims to guarantee mobility rights for vulnerable pedestrians such as people with disabilities, the elderly, and pregnant women.
According to the city on the 13th, the ‘Small Store Ramp Installation Support Project’ provides customized ramps to living facilities where access and entry are difficult for vulnerable pedestrians due to thresholds in front of stores.
The project targets small stores under 300㎡ that are not required to install convenience facilities under the Act on the Guarantee of Convenience for Persons with Disabilities, etc.
Ramps are installed using various materials such as aluminum, steel plates, and treated wood, tailored to the site conditions.
Small stores wishing to install ramps can apply by visiting the Jeongeup City Association of the Physically Disabled.
However, applicants must have no outstanding payments, and tenants must obtain consent from the building owner.
Support will be decided after an on-site survey is conducted in order of application to determine the feasibility of installation.
Mayor Lee Hak-su said, “Even a single low step can be a higher barrier than any wall for vulnerable pedestrians,” and added, “We will continue to implement meticulous welfare policies so that all citizens can live fair and happy lives.”
