Jeju Fire Department Hosts Event on National Safety Day, June 15-16

The Jeju Fire Safety Headquarters (Chief Kim Su-hwan) will hold various event activities at the Jeju Safety Experience Center from the 15th to the 16th in celebration of National Safety Day.

According to the Jeju Fire Headquarters on the 13th, National Safety Day was designated as April 16 every year to reflect on the importance of safety and raise safety awareness following the Sewol ferry disaster.

The Jeju Safety Experience Center plans to promote events that everyone can participate in, along with safety experiences, to spread a culture of safety among residents.

Special experience events will be held, including wearing self-contained breathing apparatuses seen in everyday places like movie theaters and supermarkets, fire suppression experiences with firefighters, and aircraft safety training with Jeju Air flight attendants.

Various cultural events will also be held, including riding fire trucks, indoor fire prevention safety poster exhibitions, water balloon throwing at fire-shaped wooden boards for family visitors, making fire helicopters, and operating photo zones.

The special aviation experience training requires prior reservation through the Safety Experience Center’s website to participate, but other events are open to all visitors who come to the center.

In addition to this event, the Jeju Safety Experience Center offers diverse events throughout the year by season and theme, such as Arbor Day, Family Month, and Christmas events, providing visitors with unique attractions and memories while enhancing participant satisfaction.

A representative of the Jeju Safety Experience Center said, “We plan to make efforts to improve safety awareness through safety experiences and to spread a culture of safety among residents in line with National Safety Day.”
