Financial Supervisory Service Holds Online Briefing on Auditor Appointment Guidance
The Financial Supervisory Service (FSS) announced on the 13th that it will hold an online briefing session to guide the appointment of auditors for companies undergoing external audits for the first time this year, in collaboration with the Korea Federation of SMEs and the Foreign Investment Ombudsman.
According to the FSS, 7,964 companies were newly included as external audit targets last year due to increases in asset, liability, and sales scale. If a newly designated external audit target company does not appoint an auditor, an auditor will be assigned by designation, and 29 companies were assigned auditors for this reason last year.
The online briefing session, scheduled for 11 a.m. on the 14th, will provide detailed guidance on criteria and cases for determining external audit target companies, appointment procedures and deadlines, frequently asked questions (FAQ), and more. It will also explain how to use the External Audit Contract Reporting System for online auditor appointment reporting and the detailed step-by-step procedures. The session can be accessed by searching for the Financial Supervisory Service on YouTube, and it will also be posted on the Korea Federation of SMEs and Foreign Investment Ombudsman websites.
