Martial Arts, Seminar Held to Examine Changing European Technology Policies
'Seminar on Major Overseas Countries' Tech and Startup Support Policies and Success Cases' Held
The Korea International Trade Association (KITA) held a seminar on the 12th at COEX in Samseong-dong, Seoul, titled "Overseas Major Countries' Tech and Startup Support Policies and Success Cases." This event was organized to share key technology policies and success stories from five European countries (Luxembourg, Sweden, the United Kingdom, France, and the Czech Republic). About 100 tech companies and startup representatives aspiring to enter the European market attended.
Cl?ment Metral, Innovation Technology Advisor at the French Embassy in Korea, stated, "The French government is promoting the La French Tech project to foster the digital and tech industries," adding, "In France, to attract and support overseas high-tech startups, measures such as tech visa support, tax reductions, and labor law reforms are being implemented."
Anders Hækter, Counselor at the Swedish Embassy in Korea, said, "Sweden operates government-led research and innovation hubs, with more than 130 investment firms focusing on early-stage venture capital (VC) investments," and added, "Collaboration between Swedish and Korean companies in battery supply chains, smart mobility, and semiconductor sectors could create synergy."

View original imageKim Yoon-hee, Head of the Luxembourg Delegation in Korea, emphasized, "Luxembourg is an innovative and open country, considered the primary gateway for tech and startup companies entering the European market," and stated, "The Luxembourg government is promoting technology-centered digitalization by building an ideal testbed environment focused on advanced technologies such as information and communication technology (ICT) infrastructure, 5G networks, and Industry 4.0."
Michal Sal, Deputy Director of the Czech Investment Agency in Korea, explained, "The Czech Republic supports startups by providing more than 50 incubators and accelerators, over 130 co-working spaces, and more than 35 venture capital funds," adding, "Investment in data and artificial intelligence (AI) sectors is the most active in the Czech Republic."
Kim Go-hyun, Executive Director of KITA, said, "As the pace of technological change accelerates and diversifies, Korean companies preparing to expand overseas must carefully consider not only product development but also the policies and regulations of the target countries," and added, "KITA will continue to provide timely information and support tech companies and startups in their overseas expansion without hesitation."

KITA is hosting seminars on the latest digital transformation (DX) technologies related to smart manufacturing, logistics, and AI to promote digital transformation in the trade industry. It plans to carry out various projects in the future, including regional visit DX consulting and sample DX booths at promising exhibitions.
