Yeongdeok-gun Disabled Workshop Holds Paper Flower Art Exhibition
April Disability Day Week Celebration
Artwork Exhibition in Health Center and Guncheong Lobby
From April 12 to 30, the works of disabled individuals participating in the leisure activity program "Paper Flower Class" at Yeongdeok-gun Disabled Workshop (Director Cha Gwangmyeong) will be exhibited in the lobby of Yeongdeok-gun Public Health Center and the new building of the county office.
As part of the 2023 Yeongdeok-gun Disabled Facility Revitalization Support Project, the "Paper Flower Program" involves over 20 disabled workers from Yeongdeok-gun Disabled Protection Workshop and local individuals with developmental disabilities. In celebration of Disability Awareness Month in April, under the theme "April, Flowers Bloom in Our Hearts," the disabled participants carefully crafted paper flowers such as cherry blossoms, red plum blossoms, roses, and tulips stitch by stitch, providing an opportunity to present their works to local residents.
At the Yeongdeok-gun Disabled Protection Workshop located in Geumho-ri, Ganggu-myeon, jobs such as net repair and box packaging are provided to disabled workers and trainees. Additionally, various leisure activity programs such as cooking and woodworking classes, paper flower classes, and physical function improvement classes are conducted to support the emotional well-being of disabled individuals.

Director Cha Gwangmyeong, who organized this exhibition, expressed, "I hope that local residents visiting the public health center and county office can feel the spring of April together with the disabled individuals who created these works, and that this will be an opportunity to foster consideration and communication regarding disabled people within the community."
