SPC Donates 500 Million Won to Create Safe Environment for Vulnerable Groups
SPC Happy Foundation announced on the 12th that it has carried out the ‘The Safer Happiness’ project to create a safe environment for vulnerable groups in collaboration with the Community Chest of Korea and donated 500 million KRW.
The Safer Happiness project was launched to improve the environments of facilities used by vulnerable groups such as local children’s centers and workshops for people with disabilities, to prevent various accidents and create a safer and more comfortable environment.
The project is divided into two parts: ‘The Safer Happiness Dream Center,’ a safety environment construction project for child welfare facilities, and ‘The Safer Happiness Workplace,’ a safety equipment support project for workshops for people with disabilities.
The Safer Happiness Dream Center supports the repair and renovation of fire safety facilities, exposed ceilings, exterior walls, sanitary facilities, and kitchens in local children’s centers nationwide. A total of 300 million KRW will be provided to 20 local children’s centers through the National Association of Local Children’s Centers.
The Safer Happiness Workplace project improves the working environment for workers with disabilities by supporting the replacement of outdated equipment, installation of protective devices, safety equipment inspections, and construction in bakeries and confectionery workshops for people with disabilities nationwide. A total of 200 million KRW will be provided to 10 bakeries and confectionery workshops for people with disabilities through the Korea Association of Vocational Rehabilitation Facilities for the Disabled.

Institutions wishing to participate can apply from the 13th through the websites of the National Association of Local Children’s Centers and the Korea Association of Vocational Rehabilitation Facilities for the Disabled. Thirty sites will be selected through a step-by-step selection process including document screening and on-site inspections.
