Prosecutors Secure Fair Trade Commission Data on Former KT CEO Ku Hyeon-mo's Alleged Preferential Contracting
The prosecution has obtained materials from the Fair Trade Commission regarding the suspicion of preferential treatment of orders involving former KT CEO Koo Hyun-mo.
According to the legal community on the 11th, the Fair Trade Investigation Division of the Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office (Chief Prosecutor Lee Jeong-seop) recently received related materials from the Fair Trade Commission on a voluntary submission basis.
The prosecution is reported to have secured on-site investigation materials conducted by the Fair Trade Commission last December targeting KT subsidiary KT Telecop.
The Fair Trade Commission conducted an on-site investigation at the headquarters of KT Telecop in Guro-gu, Seoul, to verify whether KT Telecop had preferentially awarded orders to the facility management company KDFS.
Former CEO Koo and others were reported to the prosecution on the 7th of last month on charges of providing illicit entertainment to outside directors to secure preferential orders and dominate the board of directors.

Former CEO Koo is also suspected of creating slush funds by inflating payment amounts at a hotel owned by KT and using these funds as lobbying money for political circles.
