Yeongsangang Cheong, Special Inspection of Suspected Improper Waste Disposal Companies
The Yeongsan River Basin Environmental Office of the Ministry of Environment will conduct joint inspections on waste disposal companies in the jurisdiction from April to June to prevent the occurrence of illegally abandoned waste.
This inspection will be carried out together with the Environmental Office, local governments, and the Environmental Corporation, targeting a total of 13 suspected companies with improper waste disposal (1 in Gwangju, 10 in Jeonnam, and 2 in Jeju).
The main inspection items include verifying whether the records in the Olbaro system match the actual incoming and outgoing waste, checking if the allowed storage amount of waste is exceeded, and ensuring proper storage, transportation, and disposal of waste.

Jeong Seon-hwa, head of the Yeongsan River Basin Environmental Office, stated, “To resolve the inconvenience caused to residents by abandoned waste, we will conduct thorough inspections through close cooperation with related organizations.”
