Gyeonggi Province held the "104th Anniversary of the Establishment of the Provisional Government of the Republic of Korea Ceremony" on the 11th.
View original imageOn the 11th, Gyeonggi Province held the '104th Anniversary Ceremony of the Establishment of the Provisional Government of the Republic of Korea' at the auditorium of the Veterans Education and Research Institute in Yeonghwa-dong, Jangan-gu, Suwon, jointly with the Gyeonggi Branch of the Liberation Association. This event was held for the first time in four years since 2019 due to the spread of COVID-19.
About 300 people attended, including Oh Byeong-gwon, the 1st Deputy Governor of Gyeonggi Province, Han Guk-seong, Director of the Southern Gyeonggi Veterans Office, Hwang Ui-hyeong, Head of the Gyeonggi Branch of the Liberation Association, and heads of veterans organizations in the province. The ceremony proceeded with reports on the history of the Provisional Government, commemorative speeches, poetry recitations, and the singing of commemorative songs.
Deputy Governor Oh Byeong-gwon said, "We hold this ceremony to honor the legal succession and historical significance of the Provisional Government of the Republic of Korea, established with the spirit of independence of the March 1st Movement and the desire for autonomous independence, and to inherit the spirit of autonomous independence of the patriotic martyrs. We deeply thank the patriots who devoted themselves to the complete autonomous independence of the homeland."

The Gyeonggi Branch of the Liberation Association was established in 1965 and currently has 2,045 members, including one surviving patriot, Oh Hee-ok.
