Gumi City in Gyeongbuk is successfully hosting the special exhibition "1963, The First Step Toward National Modernization" at the Park Chung-hee Presidential Historical Archives (hereinafter referred to as the Historical Archives) exhibition hall to commemorate the 60th anniversary of President Park Chung-hee's inauguration.

View original imageThe special exhibition "1963, The First Step Toward National Modernization" reexamines modern Korean history through President Park Chung-hee's personal belongings and photographs depicting the era, focusing on the year 1963, the year of the establishment of the Third Republic and President Park's inauguration.
During the first week, about 2,900 visitors, including groups from across the country and 40 members of the Korean Cultural Tourism Guide Association, viewed the exhibition. Additionally, 150 freshmen from Geumoh Technical High School (Principal Kim Jae-cheon) visited the Historical Archives over five days, showing deep interest in President Park's achievements in the industrial sector and taking the opportunity to pledge greater growth as skilled talents.
The exhibition runs from April 1 to June 30 and is open for viewing from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., except on closed days (every Monday).
