Preventing New Types of Hacking... KT Commercializes Email Security Solution
Over 200 Million Email Data-Based DB
22% Accuracy Improvement Through Optimization for Domestic Environment
KT announced on the 11th that it has commercialized an email security solution to prevent hacking.
The security solution, based on artificial intelligence (AI) advanced persistent threat (APT) analysis technology, features the ability to effectively defend against new APT hacking attacks that exploit vulnerabilities after analyzing users' emails through intelligent automation.
The core database (DB) of the AI APT analysis technology is based on over 200 million email data analyzed annually through the KT AI analysis platform.
By optimizing the DB for the domestic environment, the detection accuracy is up to 22% higher than antivirus solutions developed by overseas security companies.
KT creates a threat DB for about 10 new or variant APT attacks daily to effectively defend against APT attacks and updates the email security solution accordingly.
Typical APT detection solutions detect threats by dynamically analyzing files in a virtual environment (sandbox) to check for malware. However, KT's email security solution uses an image transformation processing method that converts malicious file code into images and matches them with malware patterns, making malware detection up to 180 times faster than dynamic analysis methods. This allows near real-time detection of APT malware entering through emails.

In addition to variant executable files and variant phishing URLs, it can precisely detect document-type malicious files, which are difficult to detect attack formats, thereby strengthening the detection scope for various attack types.
