Nongshim announced on the 11th that the cumulative sales of its bibim-myeon 'Baehongdong Jjoljjolmyeon' reached 4.5 billion KRW as of the 10th.

Thanks to the popularity of Baehongdong Jjoljjolmyeon, the Baehongdong brand grew by 75% compared to the previous year, achieving cumulative sales of 10 billion KRW this year.
A Nongshim official explained, "Baehongdong Jjoljjolmyeon created a new segment within the bibim-myeon market with the concept of jjolmyeon, driving the growth of the Baehongdong brand."
The reason bibim-myeon competition intensifies every year is that while the overall ramen market size has stagnated around 2 trillion KRW over the past decade, the bibim-myeon market has been growing. According to the Korea Agro-Fisheries & Food Trade Corporation, the domestic bibim-myeon market size grew from around 75 billion KRW in 2015 to about 150 billion KRW recently, and is expected to reach 180 billion KRW this year.

Nongshim plans to accelerate marketing activities for Baehongdong Bibim-myeon in April, when the weather becomes warmer. Starting this month, as outdoor activities increase, they will provide tasting opportunities for consumers through a nationwide tour with a food truck visiting various festivals and resorts across the country, and will also hold events linked to professional baseball, carrying out diverse consumer engagement activities.
