Victory at KLPGA Tour Season Opener
Lee Ye-won, who won her first career victory at this year's Korea Ladies Professional Golf Association (KLPGA) Tour opener, has entered the top 40 in the world rankings.

Lee Ye-won ranked 39th with a rating of 2.23 points in the weekly women's golf world rankings announced on the 11th. She rose nine spots from 48th place last week. She achieved a three-stroke victory (6-under 282) at the 2023 KLPGA Tour domestic opener, the Lotte Rent-a-Car Women's Open (total prize money 800 million KRW), held on the 9th at Lotte Skyhill CC in Seogwipo, Jeju (par 72, 6,395 yards). She reached the top for the first time in 33 tournaments since her KLPGA Tour debut last year.

Park Ji-young, the runner-up in this tournament, also rose six spots from the previous week to 57th in the world rankings. Lydia Ko (New Zealand) maintained her world No. 1 position for the 20th consecutive week, and top-ranked players such as Nelly Korda (USA), Ko Jin-young, Atthaya Thitikul (Thailand), and Minjee Lee (Australia) saw no changes in their rankings. Kim Hyo-joo remained 9th, joining Ko Jin-young as the only Korean players in the top 10.
