Gyeonggi-do to Promote 'Land Use Change' for 125 Unsold Public Facility Sites
Gyeonggi Province is pushing for a change in the use of 125 unsold public facility sites within the province that have not been properly sold after completion.
According to the province on the 11th, from the 2nd to the 24th of last month, there were a total of 152 public facility sites in the province that had been completed for more than two years: 118 sites in 20 housing development districts and 34 sites in 12 public housing districts. Among these, 27 sites were either sold, scheduled for sale, or in the process of coordinating sale schedules. However, it was found that the remaining 125 sites, excluding these 27, had no plans for sale. Of these, 72 sites had designated purchasing institutions willing to buy, but were in a 'hold' status due to reasons such as lack of budget or insufficient administrative demand. The remaining 53 sites were abandoned for purchase and are currently under review and promotion for use change through district unit plan amendments.
Accordingly, the province selected 10 districts with many unsold sites, including Gimpo Hangang, Hwaseong Hyangnam 2, and Namyangju Byeollae, as focused management districts, held meetings with related agencies, and discussed various solutions such as sale plans and system improvements.
In addition, the province encouraged designated purchasing institutions such as the Office of Education to make early decisions, and requested cooperation from project implementers like the Korea Land and Housing Corporation and related agencies to create site demand through use changes such as district unit plan amendments for sites abandoned for purchase.
