Gyeongnam Police Agency Weekend Drunk Driving Crackdown Results in 17 License Cancellations and 10 Suspensions
The Gyeongnam Provincial Police Agency conducted a drunk driving crackdown from 8 PM on the 8th to 2 AM the next morning around spring flower festival sites and major tourist attractions, catching 27 violations.
According to the provincial police agency, the crackdown took place at 41 major roads within the province, including 9 highway entrances and exits such as Seojinju Nadeulmok.
A drunk driving crackdown is underway near Jayeo Intersection in Dong-eup, Uichang-gu, Changwon-si, Gyeongnam.

The operation involved 73 traffic police officers, 54 local police officers, and 63 patrol cars.
The police apprehended 17 drivers with license cancellations and 10 drivers with license suspensions.
At around 10:25 PM on the 8th in Sangdae-dong, Jinju City, a driver recorded the highest blood alcohol concentration during the crackdown period at 0.140%.

A police official stated, “We will continue regular drunk driving checks around local festival sites during the spring season and plan to conduct surprise daytime crackdowns next week.”
