Man in his 50s Arrested for Demanding 50,000 Won with a Weapon
A man in his 50s suspected of threatening with a weapon, demanding money, and fleeing was arrested by the police.
On the 10th, the Gwangjin Police Station in Seoul announced that they had urgently arrested a man in his 50s, identified as Mr. A, on suspicion of robbery and injury at around 3:21 PM that day.
The police apprehended Mr. A near Exit 1 of Sadang Station on the Seoul subway. It is reported that the police, who were tracking the suspect's movements through closed-circuit television (CCTV), happened to spot and capture Mr. A. The police determined it was Mr. A based on the clothing he wore during the crime, the motorcycle he used, and fingerprints collected near the crime scene.
Mr. A is suspected of threatening a man in his 30s, Mr. B, with a weapon and demanding money at around 11:15 AM the previous day in Jayang-dong, Gwangjin-gu, Seoul. It is known that Mr. A opened the rear door of Mr. B’s vehicle parked along the street and demanded "50,000 won." When Mr. B refused, a physical struggle ensued, and Mr. B sustained minor injuries. After the crime, Mr. A fled on a motorcycle.

Mr. A reportedly confessed, saying he committed the crime due to financial difficulties. The police plan to investigate the exact circumstances of the crime going forward.
