Yeosu City Launches Initiative to Promote 'SeomSeom Yeosu Pay' Activation

Expansion of Franchise Stores, Additional Discounts, and Financial Institution Expansion

Yeosu City, Jeollanam-do (Mayor Jeong Gi-myeong) announced that it will gradually implement activation measures for the card-type Yeosu Love Gift Certificate (Seomseom Yeosu Pay) starting this month.

According to the city, this is to expand the use of Seomseom Yeosu Pay, which complies with the transparency and operational efficiency of gift certificate usage in accordance with the government's local love gift certificate operation policy, and to enhance user convenience.

First, since the 3rd of this month, a 5% additional discount has been applied when tourists use Seomseom Yeosu Pay at affiliated stores within Jinnam Shopping Center.

In addition, the financial institutions issuing Seomseom Yeosu Pay cards have been expanded from the existing Nonghyup, Gwangju Bank, and Saemaeul Geumgo to include Shinhan Credit Cooperative, totaling 59 locations to improve issuance convenience.

Furthermore, to expand affiliated stores, both online and offline promotional activities are being conducted, and citizens who encourage unregistered stores to join will be entered into a raffle to receive prizes. Along with this, a citizen communication channel will be operated simultaneously to resolve any inconveniences caused by affiliated stores.

In the second half of this year, on-site inspections by region will be conducted to expand affiliated stores and users, and during special periods to stimulate local consumption, additional accumulation events for Seomseom Yeosu Pay will also be held.

A city official said, “We ask for the continuous interest and active use of citizens in the Yeosu Love Gift Certificate, which will serve as a catalyst for the recovery of the stagnant local economy with the spirit of participating in good consumption.”

‘Seomseom Yeosu Pay’ is a rechargeable check card that anyone aged 19 or older can issue and recharge through the local love gift certificate chak app or financial institutions.
