Busan Area High School Students Experience High School Credit System in Virtual Space
High school students in the Busan area will be able to experience the high school credit system in virtual spaces starting in April.
The Busan Metropolitan Office of Education announced on the 10th that it has developed and opened the metaverse platform "High School Credit System Metacampus" for students, parents, and middle and high school teachers to use.
The "High School Credit System Metacampus" aims to enhance the understanding of the high school credit system among students, parents, and educators through immersive virtual space experiences, and to support students' academic planning suited to their career paths and aptitudes through edutech-based career design experiences.
Since August last year, the Busan Office of Education has been developing this platform by forming an advisory group for the High School Credit System Metacampus, consisting of supervisors in charge of the high school credit system at the city education office and 19 field teachers.
The platform consists of seven maps and 23 spaces, including the Metacampus world map, user training center, exhibition hall, main building, career experience center, training center, and conference room.
The "Metacampus World Map" was created by combining the city education office building with the coastline and Gwangandaegyo Bridge, symbols of Busan. Interactive objects such as "3D View of Education Office" and "High School Credit System Support Center" are installed on this map for use whenever needed.
The "Exhibition Hall" features promotional booths for schools researching and preparing for the high school credit system and leading districts, while the "Main Building" offers various materials and OX quizzes to enhance understanding of the high school credit system.
The "Career Experience Center" is composed of experiential materials for self-understanding, job understanding, and subject understanding to aid career academic planning, and the "Training Center" provides a space to sample elective subjects of the high school credit system, where 94 sample videos can be viewed.
The "Conference Room" is intended for events or training related to the high school credit system and will be available for school events or classes through reservation.
