Jeju Fire Department Conducts Emergency Response Drill for Cruise Ship Disasters
Jeju Fire Station announced on the 9th that it conducted an unannounced dispatch drill at ports and harbors to prepare for ship fires following the resumption of cruise ship arrivals, which had been suspended due to COVID-19, on the 6th.
The drill took place at Pier 10 of the province's international passenger terminal, aiming for rapid suppression training by confirming the shortest dispatch route, deploying special vehicles for onboard rescue training, and exploring cooperation measures with related agencies.
The main contents included ▲ initial fire response procedures for ship fires ▲ confirmation of special vehicle department locations ▲ initial response precautions when related personnel report to 119 ▲ confirmation of passenger movement routes and evacuation paths.
A fire official stated, “We will do our best to minimize damage through effective fire suppression by establishing a cooperative system with related agencies and conducting training.”
