Naju City Councilor Choi Jeong-gi Holds 'On-site Meeting' to Listen to Difficulties
Choi Jeong-gi, a former council member of Naju City, Jeollanam-do, announced on the 7th that he conducted a relay "on-site visiting meeting" in three zones: Central, Southern, and Bitgaram-dong, to listen to the difficulties (requests) regarding the improvement of working conditions for sanitation workers.
At the meeting, sanitation workers expressed that their biggest difficulty was the hardship caused by a shortage of personnel, stating that vacancies frequently occur due to retirements, use of annual and sick leave from work-related injuries, and leaves of absence, and they requested prompt reinforcement of manpower.

Additionally, they shared various opinions focusing on practical issues arising on-site, such as ▲resolving inconveniences caused by the lack of designated garbage disposal sites in detached housing areas and major hubs in Bitgaram-dong ▲reviewing the appropriateness of introducing low-floor garbage collection vehicles by zone to enhance collection efficiency and create a safe working environment ▲the necessity of cracking down on illegal dumping and imposing fines.
Choi Dong-ho, a sanitation worker in the Bitgaram-dong zone, said, "I am grateful that a meaningful opportunity was provided to hear the voices of sanitation workers working on-site," and added, "I hope that the requests will be reflected to improve working conditions."
Council member Choi Jeong-gi stated, "To improve the work environment, I will continue to hold regular meetings to listen to opinions from the field," and added, "I will actively consult and communicate with related departments of Naju City to ensure a safer working environment."
