Dance and Music Quartet Performance 'Anarchic Quartet' Takes the Stage

Seodaemun-gu presents the creative process support program ‘Anarchic Quartet’ on the stage of Sinchon Culture Development Center (57, Yonsei-ro 2na-gil). Performances will be held every Saturday at 4 PM from April 15 to May 6.

This performance, where dance and music are played as one, is directed and performed by the creative dance duo ‘Barinamo (Kim Bari, Ju Namo)’.

Barinamo and two new musicians each week will improvise a dance and music quartet performance.

In the first session, Kim Seon-gi (percussion) and Baek Dasom (daegeum) perform; in the second, Song Jun-young (drums) and Kim Eun-young (piano); in the third, Lee Tae-hoon (electric guitar) and Nodi (electronic music); and in the final fourth session, Lee Seon-jae (saxophone) and Shim Woon-jung (percussion) join the performance.

This performance experiments with movement and sound states through improvisation, expressing and resolving questions that arise from the body through the collaboration of dance and music.

‘Barinamo’ actively continues artistic projects such as choreography, performances, improvisation work, and workshops in various spaces in Korea and Europe. Based on the ‘Landscape’ project started in 2013, they have been pursuing new attempts and questions.

On April 28, the Sinchon Culture Development Center will hold a cultural and artistic linkage lecture program titled ‘Performance of the Body: Anarchic Quartet Performance Linked Workshop,’ with percussionist Kim Seon-gi participating alongside Barinamo.

In the workshop, participants will experiment with the boundaries between music and dance centered on the ‘dance-music score’ created by Barinamo and experience ‘listening to movement.’ Detailed schedules and participation methods will be announced on the Sinchon Culture Development Center website.

Tickets for the ‘Anarchic Quartet’ performance are available on Interpark (all seats 20,000 KRW). Seodaemun-gu residents can receive a 50% discount when booking.

Sinchon Culture Development Center supports the creative activities of young cultural artists and serves as a cultural and artistic space for mutual growth. It operates the ‘Creative Process Support’ program to assist detailed preparation processes according to the creative stage and to help advance to the next stage of work creation and artistic activities.
