Promoting Stable Settlement Support for Returning Farmers and Rural Migrants, etc.

Gokseong-gun, Jeollanam-do (Governor Lee Sang-cheol) announced that it will promote basic farming technology education for new farmers' stable farming policies from the 6th of this month to the 9th of next month.

The basic farming technology education for new farmers began recruiting on March 31 and selected a total of 25 participants, including returnees to farming and rural areas, prospective returnees, and young farmers.

The education will be conducted over a total of 10 sessions and 40 hours every Tuesday and Thursday. Expert instructors from various fields such as the Return-to-Farming and Rural Support Center and the Rural Development Administration will provide substantial education.

The main educational content includes understanding return to farming and rural areas, farmland law, tax knowledge, basic farming technology, and agricultural machinery theory and practice.

For new farmers who are not yet familiar with agricultural management, such as returnees to rural areas and young farmers who have moved to the countryside, the program offers a variety of practical topics, including basic cultivation techniques by crop and hands-on training with agricultural machinery such as cultivators.

In particular, tailored education will provide farming know-how and agricultural information to novice farmers who lack farming technology and information, offering practical assistance needed for agriculture.

A county official said, "For the stable settlement of beginner returnees to farming and rural areas, not only basic education about agriculture but also practical experience is essential. We hope this education will be a great help in developing as farmers of Gokseong-gun."
