At the opening ceremony, after the progress report, introduction of the information center, and the unveiling of the nameplate, time was spent communicating with representatives and chiefs of each village for safe facility management.
The 'Pohang LPG Pipeline Network Information Center' systematically and stably manages LPG pipeline networks and related facilities to prevent disasters and ensure facility safety for 23 villages that have completed energy welfare projects since 2019 through entrusted management by a specialized institution, as well as for villages that will complete the projects in the future.
After deliberation by the Private Entrusted Management Committee in October last year, an annual entrusted project budget of 229 million KRW has been invested since January this year, and the center is operated by entrusting the specialized institution, Korea LPG Pipeline Network Project Group.
The Pohang LPG Pipeline Network Information Center is linked with the Seoul (Central) LPG Pipeline Network Information Center, deploying one patrol vehicle and one resident staff member, and is dedicated to disaster prevention and facility safety by conducting regular and occasional inspections according to management manuals, control monitoring, GIS shape management, and pipeline network patrols.
Nationwide LPG pipeline network facilities consist of 12 military-level sites and 850 village-level sites, among which Pohang City is promoting the largest scale in village-level projects. In addition, by installing the nation's first state-of-the-art comprehensive situation room at the information center, stable management of energy welfare facilities has become possible, enhancing its status as a safe city.
This year, Pohang City plans to invest 12.7 billion KRW in 13 villages to promote the LPG pipeline network project targeting 1,078 households, striving to ensure that 99% of all citizens can enjoy energy welfare benefits.
