When Questioned, Wife Says "What's Wrong, Are You Reluctant?"
A man's story about having a fight with his wife because she secretly gave allowance to her unemployed brother-in-law has become a hot topic online on the 6th.
On the online community Nate Pann, a post titled "Wife Giving Allowance to Brother-in-Law" was recently uploaded. The author, Mr. A, who introduced himself as a man married for 5 years, said, "About a year ago, we had a child, and my wife is currently on parental leave after giving birth while working," and added, "My salary is about 4 million won per month, and my wife's salary is about 2.5 million won per month."
Mr. A wrote, "Until we had the child, we managed and saved money separately, but after my wife gave birth and went on parental leave, I started giving her an allowance," and continued, "But as I kept giving her allowance, something felt off. I was giving my wife 500,000 won per month as allowance, but she kept saying it wasn’t enough and asked for more."
He went on, "So I asked her what exactly was lacking while raising the child at home, but she couldn’t answer well," and added, "I prepared myself for a big fight and pressed her, only to find out that she had been giving 500,000 won every month as allowance to her unemployed brother-in-law who is over 30 years old. Even while on parental leave, she was giving about 300,000 won to her brother-in-law."

Mr. A said, "She was so confident that I was dumbfounded," and appealed, "Is it normal for a sister to give 500,000 won every month to her unemployed brother-in-law who is over 30 years old? I’m so angry that I can’t even write properly."

Netizens who read the story responded, "Why give allowance to a fully grown adult? If my husband gave allowance to his sister-in-law like that, I wouldn’t stay quiet," "I don’t know what the circumstances are, but shouldn’t she have at least talked with her husband before giving allowance?" "Or at least shown some remorse when caught," and "The bigger problem is that trust between the couple has been broken rather than the money."
