"'Admission Cancellation' Jo Min: 'Today is my father's birthday... I will continue to fight legally'"
Announcing Appeal Policy: "Waiving Profits as a Doctor Before Judgment"
Cho Min, daughter of former Minister of Justice Cho Kuk, has effectively indicated her intention to appeal the court ruling that upheld the cancellation of her admission to the Busan National University Graduate School of Medicine.

This is interpreted as her having anticipated her loss to some extent during the pre-trial hearing before the first trial verdict and intending to continue challenging the legality of the admission cancellation through an appeal.
Cho also mentioned her father, former Minister Cho. She wrote, "Today is my father's birthday. He, as a parent, must be more heartbroken than I, who have let everything go," and added, "I plan to spend today quietly with my family."

The court stated, "There is no procedural defect in the defendant's decision to cancel the admission," explaining the reason for dismissing Cho's claim. The court also said, "The false statements on the application form and personal statement regarding career details and the submission of forged certificates are sufficiently recognized through confirmed criminal judgments against the plaintiff's mother, Jeong Gyeong-sim, and related evidence, so the plaintiff's claim to cancel the admission revocation is not accepted."
The court's ruling takes effect 30 days after Cho receives the judgment. Prior to the main trial on this day, the court had decided in April last year, when Cho filed a request to suspend the execution of the admission cancellation, that "the effect shall be suspended until the 30th day after the judgment date of the main lawsuit."

If either party abandons the appeal before the 30 days expire, the ruling will be finalized, and Cho will lose her status as a graduate of the Graduate School of Medicine along with the invalidation of her admission. Previously, in early April last year, after Busan National University decided to revoke her admission for the 2015 academic year, Cho filed both a request to suspend the execution of the admission cancellation and the main lawsuit against the university.
