Yeongdeok-gun Holds Opening Ceremony for Gyeongbuk Residents' Happiness University This Year

Yeongdeok-gun, Gyeongbuk Province, held the opening ceremony of the ‘2023 Gyeongbuk Residents Happiness University Yeongdeok Campus’ on the 4th at the second-floor conference room of the Yeongdeok-gun branch of the Korean Senior Citizens Association, with about 60 students and related personnel in attendance.

View original imageThe opening ceremony began with a greeting from Kim Dong-hee, Deputy Governor of Yeongdeok, followed by an admission declaration by Kwon Ki-chan, Director of the Lifelong Education Center at Daegu University, a student admission oath, a congratulatory message from the Governor read by Kim Man-su, Head of the Gyeongbuk Talent Lifelong Education Promotion Institute’s Gyeongbuk Dormitory, and an orientation and special lecture by Professor Seok Tae-sik.
Deputy Governor Kim Dong-hee said, “In this era of lifelong learning, I thank the students who have enrolled seeking new educational opportunities, and I hope you have a meaningful time learning a lot and cooperating with each other, so that the residents and the region can grow together.”

This year, the Yeongdeok Campus is operated on consignment by the Lifelong Education Center of Daegu Haany University, and about 50 students will take courses in seven major areas including humanities and Gyeongbuk studies for 30 weeks until the end of the year, while also engaging in social participation activities.
