Hugel Launches Tree Planting Campaign with Chuncheon City for Arbor Day
About 750 Trees Planted in Chuncheon-si
Hugel announced on the 6th that it held a tree planting event on the 5th, Arbor Day, in the Chuncheon-si area of Gangwon Province where its headquarters is located.
This tree planting event was organized as part of the donation forest creation project that Chuncheon-si is promoting in cooperation with individuals, organizations, and companies for the urban greening project. Hugel participated together with employees from the Geodugo Factory to expand carbon sinks in the city and contribute to reducing greenhouse gases and fine dust.
The employees planted about 750 trees, including cherry trees, forsythia, and azaleas, near the Yaksa Stream waterfront park located in Hyoja-dong, Chuncheon-si. In addition, benches were installed to create a resting space that local residents can comfortably use.
A Hugel official said, "We successfully completed the tree planting event with the direct participation of employees in cooperation with Chuncheon City Hall to actively respond to climate change. We expect various public benefits such as improving air quality in Chuncheon-si and providing resting areas for citizens, and we plan to continue the tree planting event every Arbor Day."
