Sacheon-si Selected as Final Winner for Industrial Complex Innovation Support Center Project Competition
Securing Project Sites Including 4 Billion KRW in National Funding for the Establishment of the Space Aviation Agency
Sacheon City in Gyeongnam announced on the 6th that it has been finally selected for the ‘Innovation Support Center Construction Project,’ a 2023 government public contest project for industrial complex environmental improvement under the Korea Industrial Complex Corporation of the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy.
As a result, the city secured a total project budget of 4.5 billion KRW, including 4 billion KRW in national funds and 500 million KRW in provincial funds, for the construction of the Innovation Support Center.
This project aims to support the concentration of innovation functions such as R&D and business support to assist corporate activities and promote industry advancement for companies located within the industrial complex.
With this selection, a total of 4.5 billion KRW will be invested over four years from 2023 to 2026 to build an Innovation Support Center supporting resident companies within the industrial complex. The center will be constructed on a 5,188㎡ site with a total floor area of 1,963㎡ and three above-ground floors.
Positive synergy effects are expected through the integration with a complex cultural center serving as a cultural and welfare convenience facility, and the construction of a parking lot selected in 2022 as part of the old industrial complex regeneration project, enhancing structural advancement and competitiveness of the aging industrial complex.
In particular, the establishment of the Innovation Support Center, which will serve as a control tower that practically supports and manages companies, is expected to help strengthen the competitiveness of companies located within the industrial complex.
