The Jinju City Council in Gyeongnam announced on the 6th that it has donated hometown love contributions to neighboring local governments to widely promote the Hometown Love Donation System and to help the mutual development of Jinju City and Western Gyeongnam.
This follows the donation of hometown love contributions to Jinju City by Yoon Hyung-geun, Chairman of the Sacheon City Council, on March 29, and Jeong Myeong-sun, Chairman of the Sancheong County Council, on the 4th, as part of a relay promotional campaign supporting the Hometown Love Donation System.

The target local governments were Sacheon City, Hadong County, Sancheong County, and Hapcheon County.
Chairman Yang said, “Based on friendship between regions, we joined the Hometown Love Donation System together with the two neighboring councils,” adding, “We will continue to promote active communication among neighboring local governments to jointly respond to the crisis of regional extinction.”
He continued, “On behalf of the local residents, we will spare no support to ensure the successful establishment of the Jinju City Hometown Love Donation System.”

Meanwhile, the Hometown Love Donation System allows residents to donate up to 5 million KRW annually to local governments other than their registered address to induce a virtuous cycle in the local economy. Donors can receive tax deductions based on the donation amount and return gifts such as local specialties within 30% of the donation amount.
