The event was attended by Jang Doo-hyun, CEO of Boryeong; Choi Jae-gu, Yesan County Governor; Lee Sang-woo, Chairman of Yesan County Council; and Lim Woon-gyu, Chairman of Yesan County Forestry Cooperative, who planted 350 saplings. Families of Boryeong employees also participated, providing children with an opportunity to understand the significance of Arbor Day and the importance of environmental protection.
This tree planting event was organized to contribute to carbon neutrality and environmental protection while supporting the local community. Yesan County is home to Boryeong’s pharmaceutical production facility, the ‘Yesan Campus.’ Boryeong purchased 350 saplings, including cherry and cinnamon trees, through the Yesan County Forestry Cooperative and donated them to Yesan County, promoting mutual growth with forestry workers.
Changso Neighborhood Park is the second neighborhood park established in Yesan County last year. The residential areas of Changso-ri and Sinrye-won-ri, where the park is located, previously had no green spaces except for one children’s park. With the additional greenery from this tree planting event, it is expected that the park will become a space where nearby residents can enjoy rest and leisure.
