The Gwangju Metropolitan Office of Education will conduct the "2023 First Regular High School Equivalency Examination for Elementary, Middle, and High School Graduates" on the 8th to provide an opportunity for academic recognition to those who have not completed the regular curriculum.
According to the Gwangju Office of Education on the 5th, a total of 1,245 candidates will take the first equivalency exam this year, including 86 for elementary school graduation, 219 for middle school graduation, and 940 for high school graduation.
The exam will be held at four locations: Jeonnam Technical High School (elementary, middle, and high school graduation), Gwangju Technical High School (high school graduation), Gwangju Juvenile Detention Center, and Gwangju Prison.
Examinees must check the candidate guidelines posted on the Office of Education’s website under 'Notice Board - Exam Announcements.' In particular, they must bring their admission ticket, ID card, water-based marker pen for computer use (for middle and high school graduation), and black ballpoint pen (for elementary school graduation) and arrive at the exam venue entrance by 8:20 a.m. on the exam day.
Those who have tested positive for COVID-19 or are under self-quarantine and wish to take the equivalency exam must apply in advance to the Office of Education by 6 p.m. on the 7th. The Office of Education plans to support these candidates by providing a separate testing site to maximize their opportunity to take the exam.
